Class Name: Play for Grades 3-5 "Brief Interviews with Internet Cats"

***THIS SHOW WILL BE REHEARSED AS A PERFORMANCE WORKSHOP***

Instructor & Director: Laurie Toupin

Q: What does "Performance Workshop" mean?

A: A "Performance Workshop" is a play that will incorporate a lot of instruction time for students to familiarize themselves with being on stage and to learn acting techniques.  Some rehearsal time will be used as class time. Sets and costumes will be simple.  This includes a tech week and 2 public performances.  This is a great way for young people to become familiar with all things theater and for experienced actors to improve their skills.  Everyone who signs up will be in the show.  Students will learn and work on auditioning techniques and then audition for individual parts during the first or second week.

**Please note: our rehearsal time is 2 hours but all kids may not be needed for the full two hours at every rehearsal. A schedule will be emailed based on who is needed.  Everyone should be sure they can be available for those two hours so you are available when called.  In general, everyone will be called for the first hour of rehearsal but that may change the closer we get to the performance dates.

***Students need to be available to attend all of TECH WEEK: 4 PM- 6 PM Mon Oct 17- Thurs Oct 20

For performances: Fri Oct 21 they need to arrive at 6 PM for a 7 PM performance

Sat Oct 22 they need to arrive at 1 PM for a 2 PM matinee performance.

***Lastly, 1 parent/guardian per student is needed to volunteer for at least 1 thing to help with in regards to the production. A "sign up genius" will be shared with options.
